About Me

 About Me

I’m Jayram Daya — a retired mechanical engineer, entrepreneur, author, storyteller, photographer, painter, blogger, and lifelong learner.

Born in Standerton, South Africa, I began my education locally before being sent to India due to the limitations of the apartheid-era education system. There, I attended Hansraj Morarji Public School and later earned a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1974.

Back home in South Africa, I faced systemic barriers under apartheid but remained committed to my passion for engineering. After gaining experience as a tool and design engineer, I founded a plastic converting business in injection moulding. Despite ongoing racial and economic obstacles, I built the business from the ground up. Today, my two sons, both engineers, run and expand the company, while I continue to serve in an advisory capacity.

Alongside my professional work, I’ve always had a deep interest in science, astronomy, philosophy, Vedic knowledge, and the human spirit. These interests inspired me to write and publish my first book, Existence Downloaded Terminated, and continue to drive my blogging and storytelling today.

As a student of Sanatana Dharma and āna Yoga, I find great meaning in the Bhagavad Gita, especially the principles of selfless action and inner purpose. My journey — from apartheid to democracy, from engineer to elder — has taught me that service to one’s country and community doesn’t require position, only dedication.

This website serves as a platform to share my insights, reflections, and life experiences, with the hope that they may inspire others navigating their own path of struggle, purpose, and transformation.
